Dentists with a Heart Give Kids a Smile

Dentists with a Heart - Give Kids A Smile is an event that takes place every year during the month of February - National Children's Dental Health Month. This event focuses on the dental needs of children who otherwise would not have access to dental care.

The Santa Clara County Dental Society ask our members to donate their time by screening students at local public schools during a three day period in the second week of February. Member dentists also have the option of treating a child who is referred to the Dental Society for urgent dental care and whose family is uninsured and unable to cover dental work.

Thanks to our volunteers over 10,000 students are screened and over 50 children are treated each year of the program. Funds raised from donations to the Santa Clara County Dental Foundation are used to reimburse lab fees associated with the donated dental work.

Thanks to all the dentists, dental auxiliaries, School nurses, school administrators and other volunteers who work so hard every year to "Give Kids A Smile!"
