The Bylaws committee reviews, updates and submits to the membership any changes in the Society's By-Laws, rules and regulations.

 Registered Members

The Community Relations Committee promotes dental health education in schools and community events, plans and organizes activities for Children's Dental Health Month (February) and collaborates with other community groups in promoting dental health.

The Continuing Education committee establishes society sponsored continuing education courses for the membership, including special speakers, all-day courses and programs for the Society's General Monthly Meeting.

The Editorial Board committee organizes, writes, and selects articles contributed to the Society's monthly publication, "The Cutting Edge".

The Ethics Committee fields questions about the ethical conduct of professionals in our membership. The scope of ethical conduct includes business practices as well as quality of care.

The Budget and Finance Committee is chaired by the Treasurer and includes the Past President, President, President-Elect, Secretary, Editor, and one member at large, either from the Board, or a past-Treasurer elected by the Board in December. The Executive Director serves as a non-voting member. The operating budget is reviewed and approved annually.

The Forensic Committee prepares to assist local and regional officials in emergencies requiring dental identificiation.

The Legislative committee attends local political fund-raising functions and meets with politicians. The committee monitors political issues of interest to the Society.

The Membership Committee meets and greets new members, organizes social activities and handles issues related to all members' involvement with each other and the Dental Society.

The Multicultural Committee establishes communication bridges with cultural groups to assist, foster and encourage understanding and participation in Dentistry and the Society.

This committee works to assist the new dentist (anyone who has been out of dental school less than ten years) in making the transition to active membership in organized dentistry.

The New Professionals Planning Committee is a core group within the New Professionals committee that meets more often than the NP committee when planning an event.

The Nominating Committee proposes candidates for all available office positions to the Board of Directors.

The activities and polices of the Peer Review committee are established and directed by CDA. This committee handles disputes between patient and doctor when there is a question of quality in standards of practice, or malpractice. The examining panel is part of peer review.

The Website committee develops the SCCDS website content and design.

The Women's Committee deals with pertinent issues affecting the membership. The committee sponsors continuing education, social events and other activities for the entire Dental Society.
