The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is the only organization exclusively dedicated to serving the needs and interests of the general dentist. Founded in 1952, the AGD has grown to become the world's second largest dental association.
- American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics
The American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (AAIP)
was founded in 1982 by Dr. Maurice J. Fagan, Jr., at the School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia. The objective of the Academy is to support and foster the practice of implant prosthodontics as an integral component of dentistry, to act as a medium for the exchange of information among its members, to assist the profession in maintaining high standards in implant prosthodontics, and to stimulate implant prosthodontic research.
- American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics
The Academy is devoted to the study and practice of methods used to habilitate esthetics and function of patients with acquired, congenital and developmental defects of the head and neck; and of methods used to maintain the oral health of patients exposed to cancer-cidal doses of radiation or cytotoxic drugs.

The Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (AAOMP) represents the dental specialty that identifies and manages diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions and investigates the causes, processes and effects of these diseases.

- American Association of Endodontists
The American Association of Endodontists, founded in 1943, is a not-for-profit organization of endodontists and other professionals worldwide with an interest in endodontics. Endodontics was recognized by the American Dental Association as a specialty of dentistry in 1963. The AAE currently has more than 7,000 members worldwide, including approximately 95 percent of all eligible endodontists in the United States.
- American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the professional organization representing more than 9,000 oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the United States, supports its members' ability to practice their specialty through education, research, and advocacy. AAOMS members comply with rigorous continuing education requirements and submit to periodic office examinations, ensuring the public that all office procedures and personnel meet stringent national standards.
