About the Santa Clara County Dental Society
The Santa Clara County Dental Society board minutes began in the year
1889 by eight dentists who lived and worked in the Santa Clara Valley.
At that time the population was approximately 48,000 inhabitants for the
entire county. Those early dentists saw the value in starting a professional
organization specifically for their trade and joined together on a
regular basis to discuss changes in the science and practice of
dentistry as well as review incoming applicants to their new Society.
Now,
over 120 years later, the Santa Clara County Dental Society has
grown into a large, vibrant community of dental professionals committed
to education, quality of care and service to their community. We have
grown quite a bit over the years! There are now over 1.5 million people
in the Santa Clara County and over 1,400
dentists in our Society!
The Dental Society offers Continuing Education for its member
dentists and dental auxiliary, as well as support, information and other
services. The Society also offers referrals and community services to
the public.
